About Nish Happens

I started writing and posting about my life online during the mommy-blog boom in the late aughts. Needless to say, I’ve been writing on the internet for a long time, but my writing has taken twists and turns since I started in earnest all those years ago. Another bend in the road starts here.

This newsletter is focused on the intersection of life, death, spiritual formation, and societal commentary. What does our spiritual health look like in the context of the world we live in? How do things like politics, tech, social media, and pop culture influence our spiritual formation? How do we handle and talk about death? What are the everyday moments, books, shows, and relationships in our lives that bring us meaning? If these topics take up space in your mind, Nish Happens is for you.

You’ll hear from me regularly — some things will read like an old fashioned blog post (three cheers for nostalgia!), some will read like a political op-ed (I’ll try to steer clear of the hot takes), some will read like a meaningful spiritual reflection or prompt for you to consider. At the end of the day, I want to surface good questions for all of us to consider, including and especially me.

I’ll let you know what I’m reading, listening to, and watching from time to time. I’ll share interviews with interesting people, and point you to what I consider good resources that will guide you to deeper discernment and open-hearted living in a volatile world. Maybe I’ll even make you laugh!

My Official Bio awkwardly written in the 3rd person:
